Have you ever had a fight with your brother? or argued with your mom? I know that happens to all of us. But your job is to bring peace to your home. Now I know that you have heard this one million times so lets make it one million and one. "Honor your father and mother" Now as being divorced my dad would always do that to me and my siblings. He would try to force us to go with him to his house for the weekend. He never won though. Now Im not trying to slam my dad I am just giving an example. But anyways if your mom or dad says honor your father and mother every time they tell you to do something like go with your dad for the weekend (like me) or you have to visit your moms family for Christmas this year doesn't mean you have to to. To honor your father and mother means to respect them that means "Yes Ma'am"instead of "Fine" and be respectful mature when you talk them about something.
Now no matter how bad or stupidly insane your family is you should love them just as Christ loves you. Because or purpose in life is to worship God and to be as much like Jesus as possible.
Here are some steps that I got out of a book called God guy by Michael DiMarco. These steps are to show you how to act around your family:
1. ask yourself what God wants to teach you through this problem or person
2.Apologize
3. Dont escalate the conflict
4. be willing to be wrong.
I hope this helps you guys out there like me. Feel free to comment!

Indescribable

Have you ever wondered whats out there? Not like just out of town I mean like way out there. I'm talking like space out there. I personally love astronomy and think it is amazing. Well when God made the universe I think he used it to glorify him. One of the problems scientists (evolutionists) have is trying to find out if there are more inhabited planets out in space. they believe that the universe is so big that they think if the creationists "God" made the universe incredibly huge and giant for just one teeny tiny planet that could support life then there must be more out there. I think that the universes primary function is to show us how big and wonderous God is. There are so many stars and galaxies out there.
There is something called a subdivision and thats where you live. You can think you live in Hollow Woods or something but what I mean is as a subdivision is the milkyway Galaxy which is where we live. Scientists calculated that the Milkyway is 100,000 lightyears in diameter. First, let me explain a lightyear. It is a measurement in space that calculates how far one point is to another. Now one light year is 5.88 trillion miles...thats just one light year!! So if you wanted to "cross the street" then you would have to travel 5.88 trillion miles for 100,000 years at 186,000 miles per second to cross the galaxy!!!! and thats just our galaxy, There are trillions and quadrillions of galaxies. if you were to count the stars in our galaxy, one star per second, then it would take you 2,500 years to do it. thats how incredible God is. He is indescribable.
if you look at the image above, thats the whirlpool galaxy. It is called the darling of astronomy. It is 31 million lightyears from earth. If you were to travel to it you would have to travel 5.88 trillion miles for 31 million years at 186,000 miles per second.
"For the heavens declare the glory of God and the skies proclaim his handy work. day after day they pour out speech, night after night they pour out knowledge"

Crazy Love and Grace
Has your mom or dad ever told you they love you?
Mostly everyone gets told they are loved by someone all their lives. Well God loves you even more than anyone in the entire universe. He loves you more than your parents do. (imagine that) Not only does God love you but he also is VERY forgiving. We all sin and mess up sometimes but God loves you so much that he gives grace? No he doesn't just give us grace he lavishes grace upon us. It is like he is overflowing you with his grace. He wants you to be as close to him as we possibly can on this earth. thats how much God loves us. We are his most precious creation.
"And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love.
Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him"

Glory In the Highest
Hello,
This is my 2009 Christmas post. If you would like to read it feel welcome. It's about Jesus being born in Bethlehem. But if you rather read my 2010 sermon post then scroll up to the post above.
Let me tell you the Nativity story: On Christmas eve 2009 years ago Joseph and Mary were traveling to Bethlehem of Judea to register for the census. During that time Mary had become pregnant with Jesus. When they reached Bethlehem, Mary's water broke and it was time for Jesus to be born. There was no room in the inn so Mary and Joseph were forced to stay in a small cave cut into a hill where animals would seek refuge. There, in that place on the first Christmas Jesus was born. After 400 years of silence from God, the silence is broken by a baby's cry. So rejoice in the hallowed manger ground. Meanwhile in the same region shepards were watching there sheep when angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them. The angel said, "Fear not, for I bring you good tidings of great joy. Unto you a savior is born."
Remember what Christmas is really about.
"While they were there the time came for the baby to be born. When he was born she wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn."
Luke 2:6

Thanksgiving!
Hi there,
I know that we all have pain in a divorce. It is harsh on you especially if you are the oldest because you feel like you have to keep everybody together. Well, that is God's job. Even though we all have pain, every now and then you should look at all the goods things that you are thankful for that God has blessed you with like: Family, shelter, food, a house (etc.) In since Thanksgiving is is here. Just be happy and relax from all the divorce things. I understand that your life might feel uncomfortable because you might not get to see someone you wanted to see, or maybe this is your first thanksgiving without your mom or dad but we should just look at the good things that God has blessed us with!
"Always give thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ"
Ephesians 5:20

How great is our God
Ok,
I understand that our mighty God sometimes lets bad things happen to us but it is because He is testing our faith and he can see far far in the future and knows what will happen to you. He knows what you will do and he knows what he will do for you. He knows everything. Thats how awesome and mighty and powerful he is. He made all the universe and every planet out there, even the ones we haven't discovered yet! He has a name for every star in the universe and he knows them by heart. Think of an ant. say we were ants and God was a person. The person could see every ant hill in the yard but us ants could only see our surroundings around our home. The person would know when one ant, just one needed something but we could only tell when our neighbor ants needed something. That is how Great our God is.
One day I went to a Chris Tomlin concert and learned how big God is. Think about this speech that Louie Giglio said: "There is the biggest star we have found in the universe called Canis Majoris. Now if the earth were the size of a golf ball then Canis Majoris would be the size of Mt. Everest!!! You could fit 7 quadrillion earths in side this one star. If the earth were a golf ball that would be enough golf balls to fill the entire state of Texas with golf balls 22 inches deep."
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge"
Pslams 19:1-2

Give thanks even when it's hard
Hi there,
if you are in pain because of your parent's divorce, I understand how hard it is to focus on God. Sometimes we want to do things ourselves. Trust me I know how that feels. You're probably 100% not thankful for God allowing a divorce to happen. But you should be. Every thing happens for a reason and if you are caught in the middle of a divorce obviously God let it happen because it is his will and even if we don't like his will we have to be thankful for it because it is his will and remember he is in control.
"Enter His gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name"
Psalm 100:4

The Beginning
Do you ever feel like you are the only one going through tough times? Like no one in the world understands you? Well, I'm here to tell you that you're not. Divorce is more common in today's world than ever. You are not alone. More kids grow up in single parent homes than in two parent homes.
We all have pain but how we learn to deal with it makes a huge difference in the way we grow up. The first step is the hardest but well worth it. Understand that God is in charge and will direct your path if you allow Him to do so. It is hard to let go of what you want to do but when you do, God will work a huge thing in your life. If you don't, you will be just as confused as ever.
"A man's steps are directed by the Lord, How then can anyone understand his own way?"
Proverbs 20:24
I hope that you can find a place here to express your feelings and take from some Biblical wisdom to help you in your journey.
