Glory In the Highest

Hello,
This is my 2009 Christmas post. If you would like to read it feel welcome. It's about Jesus being born in Bethlehem. But if you rather read my 2010 sermon post then scroll up to the post above.

Let me tell you the Nativity story: On Christmas eve 2009 years ago Joseph and Mary were traveling to Bethlehem of Judea to register for the census. During that time Mary had become pregnant with Jesus. When they reached Bethlehem, Mary's water broke and it was time for Jesus to be born. There was no room in the inn so Mary and Joseph were forced to stay in a small cave cut into a hill where animals would seek refuge. There, in that place on the first Christmas Jesus was born. After 400 years of silence from God, the silence is broken by a baby's cry. So rejoice in the hallowed manger ground. Meanwhile in the same region shepards were watching there sheep when angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them. The angel said, "Fear not, for I bring you good tidings of great joy. Unto you a savior is born."

Remember what Christmas is really about.

"While they were there the time came for the baby to be born. When he was born she wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn."
Luke 2:6

Thanksgiving!

Hi there,
I know that we all have pain in a divorce. It is harsh on you especially if you are the oldest because you feel like you have to keep everybody together. Well, that is God's job. Even though we all have pain, every now and then you should look at all the goods things that you are thankful for that God has blessed you with like: Family, shelter, food, a house (etc.) In since Thanksgiving is is here. Just be happy and relax from all the divorce things. I understand that your life might feel uncomfortable because you might not get to see someone you wanted to see, or maybe this is your first thanksgiving without your mom or dad but we should just look at the good things that God has blessed us with!

How great is our God

Ok,
I understand that our mighty God sometimes lets bad things happen to us but it is because He is testing our faith and he can see far far in the future and knows what will happen to you. He knows what you will do and he knows what he will do for you. He knows everything. Thats how awesome and mighty and powerful he is. He made all the universe and every planet out there, even the ones we haven't discovered yet! He has a name for every star in the universe and he knows them by heart. Think of an ant. say we were ants and God was a person. The person could see every ant hill in the yard but us ants could only see our surroundings around our home. The person would know when one ant, just one needed something but we could only tell when our neighbor ants needed something. That is how Great our God is.
One day I went to a Chris Tomlin concert and learned how big God is. Think about this speech that Louie Giglio said: "There is the biggest star we have found in the universe called Canis Majoris. Now if the earth were the size of a golf ball then Canis Majoris would be the size of Mt. Everest!!! You could fit 7 quadrillion earths in side this one star. If the earth were a golf ball that would be enough golf balls to fill the entire state of Texas with golf balls 22 inches deep."

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge"

Give thanks even when it's hard

Hi there,
if you are in pain because of your parent's divorce, I understand how hard it is to focus on God. Sometimes we want to do things ourselves. Trust me I know how that feels. You're probably 100% not thankful for God allowing a divorce to happen. But you should be. Every thing happens for a reason and if you are caught in the middle of a divorce obviously God let it happen because it is his will and even if we don't like his will we have to be thankful for it because it is his will and remember he is in control.

"Enter His gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name"
Psalm 100:4

The Beginning

Do you ever feel like you are the only one going through tough times? Like no one in the world understands you? Well, I'm here to tell you that you're not. Divorce is more common in today's world than ever. You are not alone. More kids grow up in single parent homes than in two parent homes.

We all have pain but how we learn to deal with it makes a huge difference in the way we grow up. The first step is the hardest but well worth it. Understand that God is in charge and will direct your path if you allow Him to do so. It is hard to let go of what you want to do but when you do, God will work a huge thing in your life. If you don't, you will be just as confused as ever.

"A man's steps are directed by the Lord, How then can anyone understand his own way?"
Proverbs 20:24

I hope that you can find a place here to express your feelings and take from some Biblical wisdom to help you in your journey.
